Zac Posen to Be the Next Target Designer

The web and blogs were all aflutter yesterday with the news that Zac Posen is set to be the next Go International designer for Target. He joins a long list of designers who have worked with the mass retailer to outfit women with cutting edge styles for pennies. Posen's line will be seen in stores and online from April 25 through May 30. This comes on the heels of the announcement earlier in November that he was launching a lower priced line, Z Spoke, in the spring to be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Zac Posen is known for his elaborate and ornate gowns that cause quite the stir on runways and red carpets. Back in 2008, he arrived with actress Kate Mara at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy (above) with Mara wearing his gorgeous bright yellow gown and what I still remember as my favorite look of the evening. His bright blue suit and Clark Kent-style glasses were the perfect complement to the bold yellow ruffles.
As we all eagerly anticipate Posen's Target debut, don't forget the Go International line that is launching at the end of this month. Rodarte for Target will hit stores and the web on December 20. Mark your calendars because these lines go fast!
